Volunteer With OVPDP

Help Shape the Next Generation

At Owens Valley Player Development Program, our volunteers are more than extra hands—they are mentors, teachers, and leaders. Every coach and volunteer plays a direct role in helping young athletes grow as players, teammates, and people.

Because of that, we hold our coaches and volunteers to a high standard.

Our goal isn't simply to fill coaching positions. Our goal is to build a team of exceptional people who are committed to teaching the game the right way and creating an environment where players can thrive.

Our Standard

Coaching at OVPDP is earned—not simply filled.

We are committed to providing our athletes with knowledgeable, positive, and dependable coaches who embody the values of our program. Every volunteer represents OVPDP, and we carefully select individuals who demonstrate strong character, a willingness to learn, and a genuine commitment to player development.

Baseball knowledge is important, but character comes first.

A great coach is patient. A great coach teaches. A great coach inspires confidence. A great coach continues to learn.

Those are the people we want wearing an OVPDP logo.

What We Look For

We're looking for individuals who are:

Passionate about developing young athletes
Positive, encouraging, and dependable
Team-oriented and willing to work alongside other coaches
Committed to creating a safe, challenging, and enjoyable environment
Open to feedback and continual growth
Willing to put the needs of the players ahead of personal recognition

Our Coaching Philosophy

At OVPDP, we pursue excellence—not perfection.

We don't define great coaches by wins and losses. We define them by the example they set, the relationships they build, the knowledge they share, and the positive impact they have on every player who steps onto the field.

Every coach and volunteer is expected to embrace these principles:

Players come first.
Character matters as much as talent.
Teach before you criticize.
Be prepared and intentional.
Lead with respect and professionalism.
Continue learning and growing as a coach.
Represent OVPDP with integrity both on and off the field.

Our Selection Process

All applications are carefully reviewed based on the needs of the program and the applicant's experience, character, and alignment with the mission and values of OVPDP.

Our responsibility is to provide every player with outstanding leadership. That commitment guides every volunteer decision we make.

Our Commitment

We are committed to building a coaching staff that shares one vision: developing confident, capable athletes through quality instruction, strong leadership, and a positive team environment.

Our volunteers are an important part of that mission. We believe in supporting our coaches, encouraging continued learning, and creating an environment where both athletes and coaches can grow.

Character first. Development always. Winning follows.

Ready to Make a Difference?
