At Owens Valley Player Development Program, our volunteers are more than extra hands—they are mentors, teachers, and leaders. Every coach and volunteer plays a direct role in helping young athletes grow as players, teammates, and people.

Because of that, we hold our coaches and volunteers to a high standard.

Our goal isn't simply to fill coaching positions. Our goal is to build a team of exceptional people who are committed to teaching the game the right way and creating an environment where players can thrive.

Our Standard

Coaching at OVPDP is earned—not simply filled.

We are committed to providing our athletes with knowledgeable, positive, and dependable coaches who embody the values of our program. Every volunteer represents OVPDP, and we carefully select individuals who demonstrate strong character, a willingness to learn, and a genuine commitment to player development.

Baseball knowledge is important, but character comes first.

A great coach is patient. A great coach teaches. A great coach inspires confidence. A great coach continues to learn.

Those are the people we want wearing an OVPDP logo.

Our Selection Process

Submitting a volunteer application does not automatically result in a coaching or volunteer position.

All applications are carefully reviewed based on the needs of the program and the applicant's experience, character, and alignment with the mission and values of OVPDP.

Our responsibility is to provide every player with outstanding leadership. That commitment guides every volunteer decision we make.
